SDS promotes CRFM Angul (Climate Resilient Farming Model) as an integrated and sustainable agricultural development initiative aimed at improving farm productivity, strengthening climate adaptation, and enhancing rural livelihoods in the Angul region.

Angul is a climate-vulnerable and agriculture-dependent region where farming systems often face challenges such as irregular rainfall, soil degradation, and water stress. CRFM is designed to address these issues through a structured, technology-driven, and community-based farming approach.

The CRFM model focuses on the adoption of climate-resilient agricultural practices, including drought-tolerant crop varieties, efficient irrigation systems, soil health management, and diversified farming systems. It integrates crop production with allied activities such as livestock, fisheries, and agroforestry to ensure income stability.

Under SDS interventions, CRFM Angul promotes Farmer Producer Groups (PGs), Agriculture Production Clusters (APCs), and Custom Hiring Centers (CHCs) to strengthen collective farming systems and improve access to modern agricultural technologies.

The model also emphasizes water conservation practices, bio-input usage, seed systems strengthening, and capacity building of farmers through training, demonstrations, and field-based learning.
