PMAGY

SDS supports the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana (PMAGY), a Government of India initiative aimed at the integrated development of villages with a significant Scheduled Caste (SC) population by converting them into Model Villages (Adarsh Grams).

The core objective of PMAGY is to ensure comprehensive socio-economic development by bridging gaps in critical infrastructure and services such as education, health, sanitation, drinking water, housing, road connectivity, and social security. The scheme focuses on improving the overall quality of life in rural communities through coordinated development efforts.

Under SDS interventions, PMAGY is strengthened through convergence with livelihood and agriculture-based programs, ensuring that infrastructure development is complemented by income generation opportunities and sustainable rural livelihoods. Special attention is given to enhancing agricultural productivity, promoting allied activities, and supporting skill development initiatives.

The scheme emphasizes community participation, decentralized planning, and convergence of multiple government schemes for effective implementation. Gram Panchayats and local institutions play a key role in identifying needs, planning interventions, and monitoring progress at the village level.
