PMAAGY

SDS supports the implementation and convergence of the Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana (PMAAGY), a Government of India initiative aimed at the holistic development of villages with a significant Scheduled Caste (SC) population.

The primary objective of PMAAGY is to transform selected villages into “Adarsh Grams” (Model Villages) by ensuring access to basic infrastructure, social services, and sustainable livelihood opportunities. The program focuses on reducing gaps in critical sectors such as education, health, sanitation, drinking water, housing, and rural connectivity.

Under SDS interventions, PMAAGY is integrated with livelihood and agricultural development activities to strengthen income generation and sustainable rural development. Special emphasis is placed on improving agricultural productivity, promoting allied sectors such as livestock and fisheries, and enhancing skill development opportunities for rural households.

The scheme encourages community participation and convergence of multiple government programs to ensure efficient use of resources and long-term sustainability. Local institutions such as Gram Panchayats play a central role in planning, implementation, and monitoring of development activities.
